Sept 21 - Noon picnic meal at Crater of Diamonds State Park with afternoon dig.
Sept 22 - All day dig at Jim Coleman's Crystal Mines in Jessieville, AR
Sept 23 - Morning dig for those that wish with crystal scrubbing and cleaning session to follow.
Come join a fun loving group of spiritualists, rock hounds, and collectors on a Spring dig in the beautiful Ouchita Mountains of Arkansas. Be prepared to get dirty and have lots of fun. On Friday we will be digging at the nation's only working diamond mine that is open to the public. (Finders keepers!) After our diamond dig, we will off on Saturday for Jessieville, Arkansas (an hour or so from the diamond mine) for some good crystal digging. Be sure to wear clothes you may never want to wear again, as they will be stained. Sunday we will clean our crystals and those that wish to can dig a bit more.
There are plenty of hotel accomodations at both locations as well as camping facilities. The closest major airport is Little Rock. It is about 3 hours from the diamond mine and two hours from the crystal mines. Please be aware that mining can be physically demanding, and that the crystal mines can be primitive in many respects. Be sure to bring first aid supplies, plenty of nourishment.
